Chris Cunningham = Genius

I didn't really realize how much of a genius Chris Cunningham really is until I found out that he is behind some of my favorite music videos such as Bjork's "All is Full of Love" and a lot of the Aphex Twin and Squarepusher music videos as well. Check some out.

One Club Stuff

So, I'm working with a girl in China on a project for One Club that is going to be due on September 29th, a month after I get back. She's pretty much amazing and blows me out of the water with her drawing and paintings skills. So I have to get working on that pretty soon. Sigh.

This is going to suck because I don't even get home until the 10th and then I'm going to have to work my ass off to even get a finished product. Oh well. It can be done and I'm definitely going to do my best.

Prostititute Safety

Just stumbled across this and almost laughed out loud in class. I'll just post the text taken directly off the page. Hilarious.



The Aphrodite platform shoes is a high-tech shoe for prostitutes. To deal with the safety concerns associated with the job, the shoe comes with a piercing loud alarm system and a GPS receiver. It also comes with a emergency button that relays both the prostitute’s location and a silent alarm signal to public emergency services. A prototype of the shoe will come with an integrated LCD screen, speakers, Internet connection and GPS tracking system.

WTF? Someone explain this to me.

These ads are for two differnet products but have the exact same concept. How do you get away with something like this? Can I get away with something like this?

Mobile Adz

I stopped at the Pilot station on the way home to Eugene the other day and saw a large truck with three huge TV screens, one on each side. The side said www.mobile-adz.com so I had to go check it out. I went and talked to the guy that was driving the truck and he said that any company can buy advertising that will be shown on the screens, usually a 30-35 second video spot. He said he had just gotten back from Las Vegas where he drove around all night for 20 bucks an hour advertising an energy drink. Subliminal Advertising In Iron Chef

Matt mentioned this in class and so I had to go on YouTube and see what I could find. It's pretty ridiculous. It's one frame out of the show that has an ad on it. I'm kind of curious to see how much it cost to advertise for a fraction of a second during a show. Anyway, check out the video.

People were asked to create a 30 second long commercial spot for Doritos to play during the superbowl. I'm calling that out of the 5 finalists, this one wins. If not, there is no god.
