I think I have a new crush

So for any of you that actually know me, you know that I have always been obsessed with Lindsay Lohan. I have just had a hard time accepting how skanky and fake she really is. Until now. It's time for a change. I need a classier broad. And I think that broad is none other than Miss Maggie Gyllenhaal. I just saw Stranger Than Fiction and she blew me away. So I think it's time that Miss Lohan was on her way out and this new, older, classier lady is on her way in. Sorry to bother you all with my love life but I just thought I would get it out there.

Competitive RPS

OK, so I somehow ran across the World Rock Paper Scissors Society's website and I have to say this is pretty much the best thing I have ever seen. The website has everything! It has Game Basics to Gambit play which has descriptions of 3 move Gambits, my favorite being the

They have trading cards and even an online trainer. Tournaments are also posted. Check this site out for sure. World RPS Society

Oh yeah, and we just got Gears of War. Holy shit.

uhhh...

Sad video but cool stop motion. Apparently one of the crew that was helping with this film killed themself in the same way as depicted in the film. Creepy.

Check out this guy's other videos. I like the Cat Head Theater.

Myspace

My room mates and my new myspace pics that I made. Wow. Good use of grammar on that last one. But you know what? I'm not going to go back and fix it. Cause this is a blog godammit and I would rather type more than go back and fix that sentence. Without any further adieu, The Obligatory Bathroom Shots...

Okay so the concert was pretty awesome. The highlights were definitely Chiodos and Every Time I Die. Here's a little of Chiodos rocking the house.

Atreyu in Portland

Jordan and I are getting ready to leave to go see the band Atreyu play at the Roseland tonight. Should be a fun little show. I will definitely be taking the new camera and posting pics to my Flickr account some time tonight or tomorrow. Hope everyone else's night is as fun as ours.

The best Snapple commercial ever...

So I had this idea for a Snapple commercial last night when we went to WinCo at 2:45 in the morning. We were just about done with our shopping and walked by a display case with a bunch of 4-packs of Snapple. I reached over to get one and in the process of my transferring the quad pack to my cart, one slipped out and began to make its way toward the floor. I tried to stop it with my foot and jerked my body in such a way that another one slipped out and plummeted toward the floor. Both smashed and spilled their sweet nectar all over the floor. "Clean up at the ice cream case, by the ice cream" sounded over the loudspeakers and the clean up guy came over to do his job. We all stood around and mourned the loss of the two bottles of Snapple. "I guess there's a lesson in this," I said. "Got to live life to its fullest every day of your life." We're all just Snapple bottles and who knows when the day will come when we will slip out of our little carrying case and spill our guts out all over the floor. So anyway, to the commercial:

1. It would start off with a slow zooming in on a bunch of "families" of Snapple. There is happy music playing and all the families are talking and enjoying themselves.

2. All of a sudden a large human hand comes into the frame and grabs one of the families. There are a couple of concerned sounds and then the music changes as the father begins to slip. He ends up slipping all the way out and falling and shattering on the floor in slow motion, all the while his family is screaming. The person who is buying the Snapple jerks and drops the mother out of the pack as well. She shatters. The music is really sad as the hand puts the now orphaned Snapples back on the shelf and picks another happy family.

3. The Snapples that are orphaned are then put into a cold display case with a bunch more orphaned Snapples and there is a montage of them shivering and trying to be the ones that get picked to go with the human hand that comes in to buy Snapple. Finally one day a mother and her young son come into the store and look into the display case. This is the first time that we see a human face in the commercial and when they open the case their faces are very warm and glowing. They reach in and just happen to grab the two orphaned Snapples and take them home to a good home. And the ending is that every Snapple eventually goes to a good home and gets loved.

So Steve just showed me this awesome site for T-shirts and I thought I would post it on here so some other people could get a look at it. There are some really hilarious shirts on here. This one to the left is called "In Case of Zombies". There are a bunch more so definitely check out this link.

Those crazy French...

Frenchman Jean-Yves Blondeau first conceived of his plastic Buggy Rollin' suit in 1994, while he was a student at Olivier de Serres design school, in Paris. But the invention, which allows a wearer to top 60 miles per hour while maintaining any position found in the Kama Sutra, didn't exactly catch fire with consumers. Not one to give up, Blondeau recently refined the suit to a stripped-down 31-wheel version and developed his own playbook of moves, like the Zaphial (rolling flat on your back with all four limbs pointed straight up) and the Smooth Buggy Dog (three limbs on the ground and one rolling along a wall).

New Camera!

I just bought this Canon PowerShot SD630 and it's on its way right now! I'm really excited because now I will be able to have an awesome camera with me at all times and be able to take pictures of anything I see. I think this is going to be a good thing to have for inspiration and for taking good photos that I can play with in Photoshop. I can't wait for it to get here!

Guitar Hero Due

This is pretty much the best game on the face of the planet. We got it two days ago and beat it on Expert mode last night. Does that make us nerds? I'm not going to lie, we are pretty good at Guitar Hero. If you have never played this game come over and play. Please.

I got a callback from Red Bull today and have a group interview on Tuesday. I loathe group interviews. Oh well. It would be really cool if I got the job though.

And, The Shmibb Kid and I are going to do the Insomnia Film Festival this weekend so that should be fun. I will probably post a YouTube video of the finished project so be sure to check it out.

- UPDATE AS OF 11/15/06: we didnt end up doing it due to scheduling conflicts. fuck.

I'm kinda stuck on my LED project. We made a video the other night so here it is...

Yeah!

So, Jordan and I started doing this thing where when one of us asks a question the other will respond with a series of "YEAHs" each one louder than the next. I don't know where it came from and I don't know why we think it's so funny but whatever. We're weird.

A fun website I just found...

Custom Google and Yahoo

Go to that link. It's fun. Do it.

This project will be the death of me...

I have to finish at least two parts of my project today and at least one more tomorrow. My project is making the seven deadly sins into seven deadly posters that are 11 x 17. So far all I have is this...

And I don't even really like this to begin with. I'll probably do some more work on it and then just call it good. I think I'll start on Lust tonight. Should be interesting...

I need to reinstall my keyboard drivers...

Ok, I think this will be the finished product for this one...

Snack Time...

Imitation crab meat is a delicious snack...

How about that?

So, I think I'm going to be getting one of those sexy new black macbooks pretty soon. I'm really excited! It's 150 dollars extra to get the black case over the white but I'm pretty much fine with that.

That pretty much sums it up. I really should start working on my person project for my Journalism class. Shit. I think that Tim and I are going to hang out tonight so that should be fun. Go out, have a couple beers, come home and play guitar. Doesn't sound like too bad of a night. I need to clean my room...

Sir Russell Davies

Right, so Davies came into our class today and gave us the 10 things we should be doing at all times which i thought was bloody brilliant. so here they are

1. Always carry a camera, take at least one picture a day and post it to flickr.com

2. Keep a scrapbook

3. Start a blog, write at least one sentence a week

4. Record a 20 minute interview with someone, podcast it, make them interesting, once a month

5. Sit down in a coffee shop for an hour and make notes on people's conversations

6. Every week read a magazine you've never read before - write 50 words about what you've learned

7. collect something

8. read
-Understanding Comics - Scott McCloud
-The Mezzanine - Nicholas Baker
-The Visual Display of Quantitative Information - Edward Tufle

9. Every month write 50 words about 1 piece of art, 1 piece of film, 1 piece of music

10. Talk to your parents

So there you have it folks. SO now i guess i just post this using the little publish button down here and we'll see what happenes
